Meet Our Board
The State Society of Florida's officers and board members are voted in each year at our annual board elections. They serve a one year term.
Laura McDonald, President
Eric Conrad, Vice President

Eric Conrad is a 10th generation Floridian, born and raised in North Florida. He earned his undergrad at the University of Florida and his masters degree at George Washington's School of Political Management. He is a communications professional who has helped numerous nonprofits, corporations, and political campaigns achieve their goals using well-researched and effectively-targeted strategies for over a decade. Eric has been a SSF member since 2016 and served on the board since 2017.
Alex Bond, Treasurer

Alex Bond hails from St. Petersburg, and has a bachelors and masters Degree from the University of Florida. An urban planner, he currently works the U.S. Department of Transportation. He moved back to Washington in 2011 after several years as a faculty member at the University of South Florida. Alex lives in the Navy Yard area of Washington. He has been a member of SSF since 2005, has served on the board since 2013, and is Florida’s representative to the National Conference of State Societies.

Nancy Kook, Secretary

Although not a Florida-born native, Nancy Kook spent her teen years in Orlando, FL before attending the University of Florida (Go Gators!) where she received an undergraduate degree in Economics and a Masters of Arts in International Business. She is currently working as an Export Policy Analyst at the Department of Commerce. Prior to joining the State Society of Florida board in 2017, Nancy served on the DC Gators Alumni chapter as Secretary for a number of years.
